A drawing from the story “The Community Theatre Project”

In Fawzooz’s village there was an inspiring idea: a community theatre where villagers of all ages could take part, showcasing their talents and local stories. To manage the project, Fawzooz decided to apply Scrum with adjustments suited to a creative setting.

Applying the core practices

“On the stage, everyone became part of the story.”

Standardising creative resources. The team created a design guide to ensure consistency across all promotional materials and stage sets, and used predefined templates and assets to speed up creative work while keeping standards high.

Version control for creative content. The team relied on tools like Git to manage design changes, letting every member reach earlier versions or explore alternative designs without losing progress.

Automated checks in the creative workflow. They used automation tools such as shared asset libraries that updated automatically between teams, and added plug-ins to their design software that automated formatting, asset optimisation and initial quality checks.

Threat modelling and risk assessment for creative projects: the team identified potential risks early, such as critical approval stages or dependence on particular resources, and held regular meetings to assess risks and adjust timelines and resources.

Continuous monitoring and feedback. They used dashboards to track progress in real time, and ran daily or weekly check-ins to monitor progress and resolve problems quickly. They held regular review sessions during and after each Sprint to gather input from all stakeholders and fold that feedback into the creative process.

By applying these core Scrum practices, Fawzooz and his team completed the community theatre project not only efficiently and effectively, but to the high standards expected of creative work. The team gained greatly in productivity and quality, enriching the community and strengthening its cultural and spiritual values.
