Why dawn, and why now?

1 min read2 of 12

The first thing we do in the morning has become reaching for our phone. We read the news and messages before we read ourselves, and the day is crowded before it has even begun.

In this issue Fawzooz tries a different beginning: a few minutes before his usual time, a verse to reflect on, the dawn prayer in congregation, then calm thinking, deep work, hastening to do good, and gratitude to close his day. Stories from the journey of twenty-eight dawns.

Don’t try to change your whole morning. Start with ten minutes, as Fawzooz did.
