Story 03 · The Vision
3Building a Creative Mindset

After defining his vision, Fawzooz felt a new energy flowing in him. He knew vision alone wasn’t enough, and that he needed tools to turn it into reality. He realised one important tool was developing a creative mindset, one that let him meet challenges with flexibility and optimism, and see opportunity in every situation, however hard. One day at his desk, he decided to research how to develop this mindset. He read about successful people who used creative thinking to reach their goals, and found they all shared one thing: they weren’t afraid of failure.
They could see failure as a chance to learn rather than an obstacle in their way.
“Failure is a chance to learn, not an obstacle in the road.”
Fawzooz reflected on this lesson. He knew fear of failure had often held him back. He hesitated to try new ideas in case they didn’t work, and worried about what others would think if he got things wrong. But he decided in that moment to change his thinking. If he wanted a creative mindset, he had to accept failure as part of the journey, not its end.
Fawzooz began trying new ideas at work. At first they were simple, such as new techniques for organising his time or different ways of communicating with his team. Sometimes the ideas worked brilliantly; other times they failed. But instead of feeling discouraged, he learned from each attempt and adjusted his course.
He also realised creative thinking isn’t limited to solving practical problems, but can be part of daily life. He began handling difficult situations in his personal life differently. When he faced a challenge in a relationship or felt stressed by work, he asked himself: “How can I approach this in a new way? How can I turn it into a chance to grow?” Over time, Fawzooz felt his mindset changing. He no longer saw challenges as obstacles, but as chances to think outside the box. He became more flexible and more optimistic about the future. He knew this growth wasn’t quick, but he knew he was on the right road.
Putting it into practice: a new project
Fawzooz decided to apply this new mindset to a real project. He had an idea that had long been with him, but fear of failure had stopped him acting on it. He decided to start a small project that used his creative skills, one that would challenge him and draw on everything he had learned. He began developing the idea, and decided the project would reflect his vision for life. He knew success might not come quickly, but what mattered most was the experience. He wanted to learn from every step, and enjoy the journey rather than focus only on the end result. At every stage he met new challenges, but with his creative mindset he saw each one as a chance to try something new.
He kept asking himself: “What unconventional ways could I use to solve this problem?”
Over time the project began to flourish, not only because of good planning, but because of his creative thinking and flexibility in the face of challenges. Fawzooz had begun to establish a truly creative mindset, one that let him meet any challenge in a fresh, inventive way. His journey in developing this mindset was beginning to bear fruit, and he knew the future held many more chances to learn and grow.
