Why grief, and why now?
We live in a time that does not like grief. We hurry past it, hide it behind smiling photos, and ask the grieving, “When will you be back to normal?” But grief is not a fault to be fixed; it is a story to be lived.
In this issue Hana loses her mother, Rima loses her hometown when she moves to an unfamiliar city, and Amir loses his health when he falls ill. Then, in the second part, we learn what remains after loss: a body that moves, a garden that is never perfect, roses among thorns, and a hand that gives.
You will find no quick recipe for healing here, only company along the way. Read slowly, and if you need to cry, that is all right.
