1A Made Bed, an Ordered Day

A drawing from the story “A Made Bed, an Ordered Day”

Fawzooz discovered that cleanliness and order begin in the first moments of the day. He drew on the idea that making your bed each morning is not just a routine chore, but an act that reaches beyond its simplicity into spiritual discipline, which in turn lays the foundation for an organised, productive day. Every morning, after praying the dawn prayer, Fawzooz returned to his room and made his bed with care and precision.

He arranged the pillows neatly and smoothed the cover carefully, making sure everything was in its proper place. This simple act gave him a sense of achievement and of control over the details of his life, reflecting the purity and cleanliness that Islam encourages. With this daily act he began his day with a small victory, but one with deep meaning, lifting his mood and sharpening his focus. He found that this simple morning routine led to a great improvement in his productivity and time management.

“Order in daily things is not only outward cleanliness; it lays the foundations of spiritual discipline, paving the way to a more organised and productive life.”

Fawzooz proved to himself how discipline in the simplest things can improve both spirituality and effectiveness in daily life. Cleanliness and order became an inseparable part of his worship, and two essential elements in building his character as a committed, organised Muslim.
