7Strategies for Boosting Creativity

Aware of the creative challenges facing him and his team, Fawzooz decided to adopt a set of effective strategies to boost creativity and overcome common blocks. They included techniques for tackling emotional barriers, recharging mental batteries, refreshing the environment, and managing information overload.
Tackling emotional barriers. Fawzooz realised fear of failure could be a major barrier. To address it, he encouraged his team to see every unsuccessful attempt as a chance to learn. He introduced regular group reviews where the team shared experiences and drew lessons from failure without fear of judgement or criticism.
“When a team feels safe, ideas flow.”
Recharging mental batteries. To help his team recharge, Fawzooz built regular breaks and recreational activities into the work schedule. He also encouraged techniques based on working in set intervals separated by short breaks, to avoid burnout and improve focus.
Refreshing the environment. Fawzooz recognised the role of the workplace in sparking creativity. He redesigned the workspace to be more dynamic and inspiring, adding elements of nature and art that stimulate creative thinking. He also organised regular trips into nature for the team, which sparked new ideas and creative energy.
Managing information overload. To tackle information overload, Fawzooz developed a system to reduce distraction and strengthen focus. He encouraged the team to set times free from digital interruptions, and to spend less time consuming news and social media.
By applying these strategies, Fawzooz and his team overcame creative obstacles and reached higher levels of innovation and productivity. These practices also created a healthier, more inspiring workplace, improving job satisfaction and personal fulfilment for every team member.
