1Laying the Foundations of Information Security

As the village came to rely more and more on digital technology for its artistic and creative projects, Fawzooz began to notice the challenges and risks that come with information security. To build trust and protect innovation, he decided to adopt a comprehensive strategy resting on the three main pillars of information security.
Confidentiality. Fawzooz made sure that information about new designs, scripts, project details and client data remained available only to authorised people. He set up an access-control system to prevent unauthorised disclosure of sensitive information.
“Creativity flourishes when it finds a safe place.”
Integrity. Fawzooz took steps to protect information from unauthorised changes. He used encryption and digital signatures to ensure that original ideas, artworks and communications stayed unaltered, except by authorised individuals.
Availability. Fawzooz stressed that information and resources must be available to authorised users when needed. He put backup and recovery solutions in place to keep operations running, so designers, artists and developers could reach the tools and data they needed without interruption.
Challenges and solutions
Varied project work. With frequent changes in teams and differing access needs, Fawzooz developed a flexible access-management system that adapted to rapidly shifting project requirements.
Working with outside parties. To control the risk of data leaks, Fawzooz set clear policies for working with contractors and partners, and used technology to secure shared data.
Managing large volumes of data. To handle huge amounts of data, Fawzooz invested in robust storage and security solutions that kept data handling efficient without compromising safety.
By understanding and applying these core principles of information security, Fawzooz created a secure framework that expanded what creativity could do within a protected environment, building trust among team members and keeping his businesses competitive, and paving the way for the ISO 27001 framework in the creative industries.
