A drawing from the story “Faith and Certainty”

Having made repentance and seeking forgiveness part of his daily life, and feeling God near in every moment, Fawzooz knew there was a deeper dimension he still had to reach on his spiritual journey: faith and certainty. Faith is not merely believing that God exists; it is complete trust and certainty that everything happening in one’s life is by God’s decree and wisdom. Fawzooz began to notice how some things in his daily life went unexpectedly, whether at work or in his personal relationships. In the past, he would feel anxious or tense when things did not go to plan, but now he began to embrace certainty. He believed that God was planning the best for him, even if he could not see the wisdom at first.

One day, Fawzooz faced a major challenge at work. An important project had been unexpectedly delayed, and there was heavy pressure to finish it on time. In the past he would have been consumed by worry and stress, but this time he remembered that God always plans the best for him. He sat at his desk, took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He began repeating in his heart: “I believe that God knows what I do not, and that He will make this challenge an opportunity to grow.” The situation was a real test of his faith and certainty. Instead of collapsing under the pressure, he decided to place his complete trust in God. He began reorganising his thoughts, and focused on solutions rather than problems.

“Say: nothing will befall us except what God has written for us.”

Over time, thanks to this certainty, he found that things gradually improved. He knew that God had allowed the delay for a reason, and that what had happened was part of a larger plan he could not see.

Living with certainty taught Fawzooz that there is strength in complete surrender to God. This surrender was not simply resignation to fate; it went hand in hand with hard work and confidence that God would write good for him. Whenever he felt fear or worry, he remembered a verse from the Qur’an:

“Say: Nothing will ever befall us except what God has written for us. He is our Protector. And in God let the believers put their trust.”

This verse became his daily motto. He knew that everything is written, and that God arranges good for him even in the hardest circumstances. Every time he faced a challenge, he returned to this verse to remember that God is the Protector, and that nothing happens in the universe without divine wisdom. But for Fawzooz, certainty was not just words; it was a way of life. He tried to apply it in every detail of his days. When he thought about his future, whether at work or in his family life, he felt a greater power guiding him. He no longer feared the future as he once had. He knew that God arranges all things, and that it was enough for him to do his best and leave the rest to God.

One evening he sat with his family to talk with them about faith and certainty. He told them: “Faith isn’t only believing in God in the good times; it’s believing in His wisdom in the hard times. Certainty is trusting that God knows what’s best for us, even when we don’t understand. Everything that happens in our lives is part of a greater divine plan.” Fawzooz knew that faith and certainty do not mean idleness or sitting and waiting. He believed that God asks His servants to give their very best, and then leave the results in His hands. He always worked toward his goals, but he no longer worried about the outcomes. He knew that whatever happened would be according to God’s wisdom.

Over time, Fawzooz felt a real change in his soul and his life. He no longer feared the unknown; he saw every difficult situation as a new chance to learn lessons in faith. Every challenge he faced strengthened his faith and deepened his certainty that God was always by his side.

Fawzooz became someone who relied on God with full certainty and trust. He learned that faith is not only for the good times, but for facing hardship and challenge with a believing heart and with wisdom. He knew that God always plans good for him, and that every moment of his life is part of an ongoing journey of faith toward inner peace and spiritual contentment.
